TECHNOLOGY
ASFOR Poznański sp.j. is specialized mainly in manufacturing molds used for producing footwear soles. The basic material used in mold manufacturing is aluminum. At the Customer’s request, the molds can be made also of more durable materials such as duralumin. The main methods used are machining, casting and electrical discharge machining. The main operations conducted during production are: cutting, milling, drilling, turning, engraving, and polishing. Particular components of the molds, including matrices, stamps, inserts, ejectors, are made between the operations in the following halls: CNC machines, calibrating shop, pattern shop, foundry, lathes and electrical discharge machine hall, and locksmith’s shop.
DESIGN OFFICE
Design and construction workshop is the place where the technology of footwear molds manufacturing begins. There are design and construction workplaces equipped with CAD/CAM programs. Many years of experience, gained due to cooperation with international footwear industries, allow us to create new molds compliant with the world standards. Parametric design with using an integrated CAD/CAM software, a measuring arm with a contactless laser head and coordinate measuring machine enables solid and surface modeling methods, and the method based on triangle meshes. Therefore, preparing of the documentation is much faster.
The measuring arm is a fully functional system used in coordinate measuring technology to control and create reversed mappings. Its mobility enables checking even nearly impenetrable components in various conditions. Moreover, high measuring accuracy and the possibility of remote controlling of all the software functions provide quality guarantee.
In the design office we prepare projects of layouts, models and molds.

FOUNDRY AND PATTERN SHOP
We have one of the few footwear molds foundry in Poland. It is equipped with crucible furnaces and electric chamber furnaces to dry plaster models. The materials made in foundry technology have relevant certificates which represent the highest available standard. It enables manufacturing even the most complex models. The basic materials used in the foundry are aluminum pig sows and special pottery plasters. The processes conducted in our foundry are constantly modernized and improved. Many years of the team’s experience enable maintaining the high quality of products.
POST-FINISHING AND QUALITY CONTROL
Post-finishing is conducted in the locksmith’s shop in which a qualified team use modern tools and instruments to finalize the product. They polish, assemble and screw the molds together. Then, the product goes through the Quality Control Department where the correctness of the submitted order is checked, and the molds are tested on injection molding machines. The last stage is packaging and logistics. The post-finishing stage is especially important, thus we hire a team of specialized employees who follow strictly defined tasks which ensures the effect that is fully satisfying for our Customers.
